Gemma Salmon – Mental Health Practitioner (MHP)
Mental Health Practitioners are experienced mental health staff with expertise in the assessment and management of mental health conditions. The role of Mental Health Practitioner is to assess people’s needs, provide advice and guidance and support access to appropriate services if required. MHP’s complete referrals to talking therapy but do not provide talking therapy on site. They can carry out reviews and follow ups for patients with anxiety, stress, low mood. They can also complete referrals to the ADHD service following assessment, and signposting or referral into STARS. They can make referrals directly into appropriate secondary services as required.
Patients can be booked directly into the clinic via the reception team or be referred by a healthcare professional. Patients should be: 18 and over, experiencing concerns around anxiety, stress, low mood
Craig Walklet – STR worker (Support, Time & Recovery Worker)
Referral route – through contact with the MHP as mental health risk assessment and suitability of referral to be assessed prior to accessing STR service.
A Support, Time and Recovery (STR) worker supports adults (18+) presenting with mental health needs. Offering timely practical support and short-term intervention, to improve mental wellbeing in the local community within primary care to prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist services. STR workers provide Support and Time to aid Recovery and work in collaboration with Mental Health Practitioners.

- Silvercloud and online CBT programme access
- Goal Setting related to mental health and health promotion
- Working closely with Well-Being and Recovery College to support referrals
